in 2017, ahmedpur east site of major disaster, when on 200 villagers collecting fuel overturned truck killed in accidental explosion. more 70 among injured died in burn centers. updated numbers indicate @ least 200 people died in explosion. death toll of ahmadpur east oil tanker tragedy reached 219 when victim died @ nishtar hospital, multan.


as many 94 victims have been died in different hospitals, including 18 @ jinnah hospital, lahore, 11 @ burns ward of cmh, bahawalpur, , 10 @ bahawal victoria hospital. however, 34 injured persons still under treatment @ different hospitals, including 22 @ bvh, 5 @ thq hospital, ahmadpur east, 3 @ nishtar hospital, multan, , 4 @ jinnah hospital, lahore.


according focal person appointed giving details tragedy dr amir mahmood, 31 injured persons had been discharged after recovery. meanwhile, relatives of several ahmadpur east tragedy victims alleged financial aid cheque issued district government on order of punjab cm shahbaz sharif had bounced banks concerned. dc office spokesman through information department said claim not true. spokesperson said if cheque did not cash concerned families should contact dc office.
