toormore made racecourse debut in maiden race on 6 furlongs @ leicester racecourse on 28 may. starting 5/2 joint-favourite in field of twelve runners took lead approaching final furlong , won neck ertijaal, gap of 7 lengths major crispies in third. more 2 months later, toormore returned group 2 vintage stakes on 7 furlongs @ goodwood racecourse , made 5/4 favourite ahead of parbold, colt had finished second war command in coventry stakes. restrained hughes in stages before accelerating inside final furlong catch outstrip in final strides win neck. on 15 september, toormore sent ireland contest group 1 vincent o brien national stakes on 7 furlongs @ curragh racecourse. started favourite in field of 5 runners, main opposition appearing come sudirman, had beaten war command third place in phoenix stakes. toormore led start , drew away in final furlong win 2 , 3 quarter lengths sudirman giovanni boldini in third. despite reports colt run in racing post trophy, toormore did not run again in 2013. form boosted, however, performances of horses had beaten: war command won dewhurst stakes, whilst outstrip , giovanni boldini finished first , second in breeders cup juvenile turf.

in official ratings published in january 2014, toormore rated best european two-year-old of 2013, 2 pounds ahead of cartier award winner kingston hill.

2014: three-year-old season

on 17 april @ newmarket toormore made three-year-old debut when started money favourite craven stakes, trial race 2000 guineas. ridden ryan moore, took lead approaching final furlong , won 2 lengths grey gatsby. on 3 may, toormore started 15/2 third favourite, behind kingman , australia 2000 guineas on rowley mile course @ newmarket on 3 may. among leaders start, began struggle furlong finish , finished sixth behind stable companion night of thunder. toormore started 7/1 third favourite behind kingman , night of thunder st james s palace stakes @ royal ascot, ran poorly, weakening in closing stages finish sixth of 7 runners. on 29 july, toormore dropped in class , started 5/6 favourite group 2 lennox stakes on 7 furlongs @ goodwood racecourse. ridden hughes, took lead approaching final furlong overtaken in closing stages , beaten neck five-year-old es que love.

in september, toormore sent turkey international topkapi trophy on 1 mile @ veliefendi racecourse. started 1/5 favourite finished third behind other british runners glory awaits , our channel. on 18 october, colt started 25/1 outsider queen elizabeth ii stakes @ ascot racecourse. fought attempts of jockey kieren fallon restrain him , dropped last place 2 furlongs run before finishing take third place behind charm spirit , night of thunder.

toormore made first appearance of year, in lockinge stakes on straight mile course @ newbury on 16 may. tracked leaders in stages before staying on finish second of sixteen runners, neck behind night of thunder. in queen anne stakes @ royal ascot led of way before being overtaken in final furlong , finishing fourth of 8 runners behind solow. in july, toormore dropped in class , distance second attempt @ lennox stakes , started 9/4 joint-favourite three-year-old dutch connection, winner of jersey stakes. ridden james doyle, led start , stayed on when challenged in last quarter mile win 3 quarters of length dutch connection , safety check. toormore sent france prix jacques le marois @ deauville racecourse started 5/1 second favourite , finished fifth behind five-year-old mare esoterique after leading until last 400 metres.

in september, toormore again sent turkey second attempt @ international topkapi trophy. started odds-on favourite , won 2 , half lengths locally trained perfect warrior. toormore returned europe prix de la foret on 1400 metres @ longchamp racecourse on 4 october. took lead in straight overtaken 200 metres out , finished third of thirteen runners behind make believe , limato. on final appearance of season sent sha tin racecourse hong kong mile on 13 december , finished unplaced behind maurice.

2016: five-year-old season

on first appearance five-year-old toormore contested group 2 bet365 mile @ sandown park on 22 april when ridden first time william buick. started 7/2 second favourite behind belardo whilst other runners included dutch connection (jersey stakes), adaay (2015 hungerford stakes), breton rock (2014 hungerford stakes) , gabrial (lincoln handicap). raced in second place until last quarter mile , got better of sustained struggle dutch connection win neck. in next 2 races moved highest class , performed creditably in defeat finished fifth belardo in lockinge stakes , fourth american mare tepin in queen anne stakes.
