on february 13, 2015, representative peter t. king introduced h.r.997, english language unity act of 2015, in united states house of representatives. bill establish english official language of united states. companion bill, s.678, introduced senator jim inhofe in united states senate on march 9, 2015. both bills referred committee. similar legislation has been introduced every year since 1973.
