gautham vasudev menon first revealed had prepared script titled enai noki paayum thota in mid-2013, when narrated film suriya. pair opted not work on project , instead began pre-production work on film, dhruva natchathiram, instead during period.


cinematographer jomon t. john joined team in march 2016.


casting

in march 2016, gautham vasudev menon announced direct film, feature dhanush , megha akash, , debut actors ramaguru in lead roles. in may 2017, sunaina cast in unspecified role.


filming

the project officially launched on 14 march 2016 in chennai.
