the content , activities of garden formulated , implemented committee. 3,000 plant species present on 3.5 ha of west campus.


the garden houses bulk of university s cycad collection, managed own curator, , involved in active horticultural research such new installations rainwater harvesting garden , cremnophyte based green walls of new plant science building. both of these projects mimic natural systems create habitat specialized plant species.


aims of garden include awareness of southern african flora through dissemination , acquisition of botanical knowledge, provision of plant material education , research, collection , propagation of rare species, research southern african plants horticultural potential.
