roberts began radio career on june 13, 2005 intern on opie , anthony radio show on xm satellite radio, based in new york city. in 2006, became show s associate producer, followed producer in january 2010. in april 2011, roberts became host of pre , post opie , anthony radio show, , became show s executive producer in february 2014. june 2015 october 2016, roberts hosted sam roberts show.


in fall of 2008, roberts , east side dave started special delivery sirius xm; show started pre-taped hour airing on saturday nights, became weekly live show. in april 2010, roberts became host of overnight top 40 music show on siriusxm hits 1; show lasted 4 years.


on october 4, 2016, roberts joined comedian jim norton co-host morning program jim norton & sam roberts, on opie radio channel (now known faction talk) on siriusxm.
