after long career on stage , aged in late thirties, mack sennett signed great fanfare in june 1927, describing internationally famous musical comedy , vaudeville star. cast in several sennett girl comedies, two-reel productions designed show off beauty of sennett s latest actresses. other actresses featured in girl comedy shorts carole lombard, anita barnes, , kathryn stanley. first title girl everywhere, pollard receiving title billing. of these films included short, two-strip technicolor sequences. in these first movies sennett, pollard demonstrated talents comedian , dancer. lombard , pollard became close friends during time working sennett. lombard reportedly said daphne pollard , in hysterics whole time. used pull worst gags on...some of boys.


pollard went on work vitaphone, rko pictures , universal pictures. memorably appeared in several laurel , hardy films of mid-1930s, shrewish wife of oliver hardy in thicker water (1935) , our relations (1936) , maid in bonnie scotland (1935), achieving 60 screen credits in 7 years between 1928 , 1935. continued appear in occasional supporting roles 1940s, again appearing briefly laurel , hardy in dancing masters (1943). final role mrs mcginnis in kid dynamite (1943).
