the hermitage built in 2 segments – upper , lower. lower part, has orange hut, had compound wall caves of tsongkhapa (1357–1419), rgyal tshab rje (1364–1432) , mkhas grub rje (1385–1438) existed. “ganden feast of 25th” (dga’ ldan lnga mchod), commemoration of death-date of tsongkhapa, used observed here @ small hut. tradition initiated byams chen chos rje (1354–1435), founder of sera lived in small hut. small kitchen , large building (residence monks) seen north of compound wall.


the upper part of hermitage had compound main temple, kitchen, bla ma’s residence, rooms visiting sera monks existed. temple tsongkhapa here, had thousands of small pressed-clay tablets (tsa tsa) of him.
