in 2001, both sunstate , southern australia (as eastern australia airlines, impulse airlines , national jet systems airlink operation) rebranded qantaslink, though each entity retained amount of independence. southern australia name subsequently disappeared when absorbed eastern australia airlines.


also in 2001 sunstate began re-equipping q300 version of dash 8. received 6 q300s , disposed of remaining short 360s, thereby achieving all-dash 8 fleet.


in 2006 sunstate took delivery of 7 bombardier dash 8 q400. 5 placed in service on queensland routes, while 2 used commence new services between sydney , canberra. q400 fleet has since expanded , smaller variants of dash 8 have been progressively withdrawn service.
