the pratt cannoneers, founding member of hudson valley intercollegiate athletic conference (uscaa), has varsity teams competing in men s basketball, soccer, cross-country, indoor/outdoor track, , tennis; women s soccer, tennis, cross-country, indoor/outdoor track, , volleyball.

the men s basketball team has storied tradition, including 4th longest collegiate basketball rivalry in nation between pratt , polytechnic university (brooklyn, ny), pratt holding overall record 78-59. cannoneers took home national collegiate championship title in 1901, , made 4 naia ( 59, 60, 61, , 62) , 2 ecac ( 77, 79) post-season appearances. former players included ed mazria ( 62), drafted new york knicks, , anthony heyward ( 94), tours and1 streetball team half man half amazing . bernard chang formerly captain of men s varsity basketball team.

the men s soccer team won naia tournament in 1959, edging elizabethtown college 4-3 in double overtime.

the women s cross-country team captured 2006 hmwac championship title , coach dalton evans won coach of year honors. men s cross-country team has championship title. women s tennis team has won 3 hvwac titles, including appearance in ecac tournament.

in addition, there intramural activities schedules throughout year, ranging individual (tennis , track & field) team sports (soccer, basketball, volleyball, , touch football). 2 premier student intramurals events include fall classic halloween pratt ratt outdoor obstacle relay race , annual mr. & ms. pratt thatt fitness & artistic expression pageant finale.

the athletics resource center (a.r.c.) home athletic department, , features largest clear-span space in brooklyn. hosts annual colgate games, nation s largest amateur track series girls elementary school through college.

the school s mascot, cannoneer, derives 19th century cannon stands prominently near main gate campus. cast in bronze in seville, spain, cannon bears insignia of philip v , brought pratt walls of morro castle in havana, cuba, in 1899.

pratt radio, student-run internet radio station broadcasts on web. broadcasting limited-range signal in mid-1980s, fcc stepped in , shut operation down after students modified broadcast tower, rendering pratt radio pirate radio. station later re-emerged in 2001 legitimate internet-only station.
