john snow college boat club (jsbc) rowing club of john snow college, @ durham university. both john snow , stephenson colleges have access non-tidal water row, river tees, , make use of rowing pontoon alongside queen s campus site.


history

when durham university took responsibility of campus in 1994, tees rowing club asked develop rowing. campus became known university college, stockton (ucs) in 1996 , such boat club called university college stockton boat club (ucsbc), differentiate university college, durham.


further integration led campus bring renamed in 1998 along boat club university of durham stockton campus boat club (udscbc) differentiate university college boat club. club rented out rack space boats in tees rowing club s boathouse down boathouse lane, site of tees rowing club s boathouse since 1864. club raced under palatinate colours, remains of can seen on old blades.


in september 2001, john snow , george stephenson colleges formed out of university of durham stockton campus, although provided udscbc opportunity create 2 separate clubs, decided due low membership , boats should remain joint club. in november 2001 both tees rowing club , udscbc left site on boathouse lane , moved new shared premises @ river tees watersports centre, funded big lottery fund , £80,000 durham university.


in late 2010 new boat house officially opened. boat house situated on southern shore of tees , on campus, shared both john snow , george stephenson colleges.
