anarkali remains 1 of oldest surviving markets in south asia, dating @ least 200 years , derives name nearby mausoleum thought of courtesan girl named anārkalī, chased out of town order of mughal emperor akbar having love affair son, prince salīm, later become emperor jahāngīr.
