United States House New York state elections, 2012



after loss of 2 seats following 2010 united states census, new york congressional delegation reduced twenty-nine twenty-seven u.s. representatives. 2 existing districts eliminated district 9, held republican rep. bob turner, , district 22, held retiring democratic rep. maurice hinchey. fifteen-term democratic representative gary ackerman, ten-term democratic maurice hinchey, , freshman republican bob turner announced not seek re-election united states house of representatives.


on election day, democratic party regained 2 seats held republicans, while republican party regained 1 seat held democrat. in 113th congress, scheduled meet beginning on january 3, 2013, new york delegation consist of 21 democrats , 6 republicans.
