Station layout 104th Street (BMT Jamaica Line)


























































this elevated station opened on may 28, 1917 under brooklyn union elevated railroad, affiliate of brooklyn rapid transit company. former brooklyn manor station on lirr s defunct rockaway beach branch, closed in 1962, 2 blocks west , available transfer if rockaway beach branch reopened train service.


until 1966, station known 102nd street. given dual name of 102nd–104th streets. of 2011, station signage , official map give station name 104th street.


this station has 2 tracks , 2 side platforms, there room center track. both platforms have beige windscreens , brown canopies green frames , support columns entire length except small section @ either end. here, there waist-high steel fences lampposts. station signs in standard black name plate white lettering.


the 1990 artwork called 5 points of observation kathleen mccarthy. made of copper mesh, allowing view of streets platforms, , resembles human face when viewed street. found on 5 other stations on bmt jamaica line.


the manhattan-bound platform of station closed renovation until 2018.

this station has 1 active station house beneath platforms near east end. single staircase each platform goes down waiting area/crossunder, turnstile bank provides access , station. outside fare control, there token booth , 2 staircases street. 1 faces south , goes down southeast corner of 104th street , jamaica avenue while other faces west , goes down north side of jamaica avenue near northwest corner of 104th street. station house has concrete flooring , windscreens going halfway platform stairs.


this station formerly had mezzanine @ 102nd street. station house , stairs street have been removed.
