kuakata beach


kuakata sea beach on southernmost tip of bangladesh. located in patuakhali district, kuakata has wide sandy beach 320 kilometres (200 mi) south of dhaka, , 70 kilometres (43 mi) district headquarters. kuakata beach 30 kilometres (19 mi) long , 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) wide. on eastern end of beach gongamati reserved forest, evergreen mangrove forest , snippet of original kuakata. when rakhines settled in area in 1784, kuakata part of larger sundarbans forest. sundarbans @ distance of one-hour speed boat. mangrove forest, gongamati, sundarbans, offers protection against tidal surges, threatened logging , deforestation. forest can reached foot or bike along beach.
