by default, write articles in present tense, including covering products or works have been discontinued. articles discussing works of fiction written in present tense (see wp:writing better articles § tense). generally, not use past tense except dead subjects, past events, , subjects no longer meaningfully exist such.

tense can used distinguish between current , former status of subject: dún aonghasa ruin of prehistoric irish cliff fort. original shape presumably oval or d-shaped, parts of cliff , fort have since collapsed sea. (emphasis added clarity.)
