origins , foundation

rugby 1 of traditional sports in andorra. vpc andorra xv founded in 1961 rugby union section of fc andorra (secció de rugbi del futbol club andorra). group of students had practiced rugby during stay in france , spain, decided introduce in country. later club renamed vpc andorra rugby xv. acronyms vpc means civil protection volunteers (voluntaris de protecció civil in catalan). original idea orders of fire chief , service of country, whenever necessary, collaborate on various tasks of civil protection: fires, finding missing persons, mountain rescue, in collaboration service order (arrival of tour, visit coprinces, etc...). although country has effective structure civil protection, club still in determination cooperate whenever necessary.


catalan , spanish stage (1961-1986)

at beginning, vpc andorra xv joined catalan rugby federation, following spanish rugby federation. first results quite bright, getting placed among top of catalan , spanish rugby. unfortunately, in 1971 club agree federation team can not climb categories of honor never state. said team abroad, comprising foreign players. club accepted thinking remove clause in future. andorran team became overwhelmingly dominated rugby catalan championship, stringing series of titles. catalan cup (copa catalunya) allowed play spanish cup (copa del rey de rugby). victories in spanish cup important, defeating top teams of catalan , spanish rugby championship (ue santboiana, fc barcelona rugby, rc cornella, etc...). andorran club won catalan cup in 1977, satisfactory results, demonstrating vpc andorra should fight in top level categories.


french stage (1986-present)

missing hopes compete @ highest level of spanish rugby system, club decided take decisive step , decided compete in france in 1986-87 season on committee of roussillon , in committee midi-pyrénées in 1993. despite hard beginning, vpc andorra xv has been rising steadily , live sporting level, period positive having won 2 promotions , 2 honneur midi-pyrénées championship finals, achieving promotion fédérale 3.
