belliard drafted milwaukee brewers in 8th round of 1994 major league baseball draft. belliard played in brewers farm system 1994 1999, winning texas league all-star honors in 1996 , in 1998 honored triple-a all-star, international league all-star, baseball america 1st team minor league all-star , brewers minor league player of year.


he made major league debut on september 12, 1998 pinch runner against chicago cubs , got first major league hit in first at-bat, pinch hitter, on september 16 against cincinnati reds.
