in 1901 william collins, son of john collins of mundoolun, renewed nindooinbah lease. william , bride honeymooned in japan , on return took residence @ nindooinbah, though house in dilapidated state. collins purchased property, in 1906, , employed eminent brisbane architect, robin dods, extend house. alteration sympathetic original house, changed french doors , added en-suite master bedroom altered little else. in 1918 entrance porch extended.


the detached kitchen moved 1906 , became gate house. adjacent house bush houses , fernery. bamboo bush house demolished in 1950s though irrigation system feeds water laundry remains. play house built in 1950s has been adapted use garage.


about 1984 japanese tea house in man-made lagoon constructed, house repainted externally , of edwardian garden designed dods replanted. gardens include grotto, tennis court, , garden sheds.


other buildings on site beyond homes enclosing fence includes artists studio , flag pole, managers house, garages, men s quarters, woolshed, cattle yards , remains of stables, butchers shop, cold-room , icemaking room.


the woolshed built permanent structure 1857. included shearers quarters , dining room. 1863, weather , other factors led of local squatters utilise runs depasturing cattle rather sheep, hence woolshed has been used men s quarters , storage many years.


of original local squatter homesteads nindooinbah , mundoolun remain , both have been , remain homes of collins family or descendants. woolshed 1 of oldest in queensland , quality , intactness make rare.
