the 3 protectors temple towers on rest of hermitage
while 3 protector s temple has been refurbished around original walls, other areas have been re-built. main temple 3 tiered yellow building towers on entire hermitage complex credited have been built founder of hermitage – drupkhangpa – temple of 3 protectors images of 3 protectors namely avalokiteśvara, mañjuśrī, , vajrapāni new since original statues destroyed. temple caretaker s room , kitchen adjacent temple.
descending temple of 3 protectors temple leads courtyard several entry doors; northern side has monks rooms yellow coloured windows , southern side has purchok rinpoché s rooms. further away, through smaller courtyard, scripture chapel (kangyur lhakhang). living quarters of monks on top floor of main temple. below top floor firewood store , gong room (gong used call monks prayers , eating). @ lowest level of main temple compound are: main temple, cave temple of purchok rinpoché, protector deity chapel, mani [wheel] temple (mani lhakhang), kitchen , store room.
in dharma enclosure (chöra), large open space in front of main temple, had in past “dharma enclosure assembly hall” destroyed , not rebuilt. however, murals seen @ base of 1 of walls of enclosure. new library has been built adjoining these ruins houses collection of tengyur.
